This past weekend I raced in my first tri of the season. This was a new venue I had not been to before in Newnan, GA. We had great weather, a little wind, but the water was warm, no wetsuit required! I was in the 4th wave with the women 40 and over and I won the swim, stayed close to the buoys and I caught the wave before me but it was not too crowded. The bike was 15 miles, rolling hills, very pretty country scenery and not much traffic. My bike training has not been where I want it to be, and it showed in my split. The run was an out and back course in the park with the first mile uphill, that hurt! Coming back I negative split the race and finished in 22:09, which is decent for me. I finished first masters, with a time of 1:16. My transition times were very good, which I was worried about as I have not done transitions in awhile. I look forward to getting my biking in better shape and racing again the end of June!
