Kris Kester
My first triathlon was in 1989 and everything went wrong, but I crossed the finish line and was hooked. My sports background included swimming in college, but triathlon was a much more fun way to race. I have been an "Ironsherpa" for my husband who also does triathlons, as well as a parent to children who compete in triathlons. For years I raced to just to finish and get the tshirt, and steadily progressed to compete in World Championships at the Olympic, 70.3 and Ironman distances. I have also been fortunate to have some of the best coaches in all sports - many of whom have encouraged me to coach others. This varied perspective, as well as my healthcare background, inspired me to want to coach others so that they can also learn to enjoy this sport. I know what it is like to juggle family responsibilities, a job, and trying to compete.
My Coaching Philosophy-
*Meet you where you are at. I will be realistic about your current fitness goals, outside demands, and other factors necessary to put together a plan that pushes you without sending you over the edge.
*If you're not enjoying training and racing, we need to change something.
*Think about what you can accomplish and aim one level higher
I can be reached at 404-822-8021 if you have further questions.
